OHIP-Funded Mindfulness Group Counselling
One conscious breath in and out is a meditation.
-Eckhart Tolle
Mindfulness is an experience and so it is challenging to capture its essence with words. How do you accurately describe the taste of an orange? It pales in comparison to the experience of tasting an orange. Likewise, although mindfulness is commonly described as being aware and in the moment, with acceptance and without judgement, it’s not like experiencing deeper levels of mindfulness.
Research has shown that Mindfulness meditation can be effective in reducing depression and stress, regulating emotions and awareness, and improving physical and mental health.
These interactive group sessions will get you started on your journey in mindfulness through explorations of awareness, kindness, breathing exercises, body scans and meditation.
