Qualifying for OHIP-Funded Services
To qualify for OHIP-funding, you must:
- Have a valid OHIP card
- Be attending your virtual appointment from within Ontario’s borders
- Have a physician’s or nurse practitioner’s referral
Access to MD-delivered grade A treatment protocols in a virtual group format at a fraction of the cost!
Patients with insomnia, chronic headache, or chronic fatigue can now access Grade A cognitive behavioural treatment programs offered virtually in a group format under OHIP.
Patients with lower back pain or post-concussion syndrome can now get counselling on how to get strong again.
These programs will teach you how improve your condition by addressing the root cause.
- CBT-i,
- Energy Management,
- Functional Headache Management,
- Lower Back Pain Education,
- Post-concussion Syndrome Education
They will teach you about how your body works. They will teach you how to leverage that information in retraining how your body operates so that you have better sleep, more energy, fewer headaches, less back pain and how to navigate your post-concussion recovery.
Because these are OHIP-funded, savings to the patient are significant.
- Group Counselling Sessions (GCS) are covered by OHIP but the workbook required is not covered by OHIP*.
- These services are available privately usually by psychotherapists and occupational therapists for thousands of dollars.
- Even if patients were to get some additional help from our occupational therapist or psychotherapist, the savings are still huge.
*There is no workbook for Lower Back Pain or Post-concussion Syndrome Education sessions
Cost of CBT-i at IBFM

*HST must be charged on Psychotherapy visits as decreed by CRA
